Dan O’Neill trained at London Contemporary Dance School and as a dancer has performed with companies such as DV8, The Featherstonehaughs and Second Stride, and also for opera and on film. As a choreographer and assistant or associate director his credits in opera include Faust (Mariinsky Theatre, St Petersburg), Don Carlo (Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Lisbon), Parsifal, (The Royal Opera House, London), Wake (Nationale Reisopera) and The Gambler, Rusalka, La fanciulla del West, Le nozze di Figaro and Eliogabalo (Grange Park Opera).
His work as a movement director away from opera has included Monkey (Young Vic), Peepshow (Frantic Assembly), Escapade (South Bank Centre), Wolves in the Walls (National Theatre of Scotland) and productions for many regional theatres around the UK. In the West End he has worked as assistant choreographer on Jesus Christ Superstar (Lyceum) and Dr Dolittle (Apollo Theatre).
Dan has made several short films, including The Linesman (BBC/NPS), The Human Voice (Channel Four) and the award-winning Struck. He is a visiting lecturer at RADA and Central School of Speech and Drama.
